Day 291 - COVID-19 2020 - New Year’s Eve Edition

Today is New Year’s Eve. A year ago looked so different. To say this was a difficult year would be an understatement. For many, it was devastating. I am grateful that my Mommy, family and the framily have been healthy. I love my new routine. I love my morning, afternoon and evening chicken. I love the long walks with a Mommy. I love my new beds. I enjoy watching what Mommy does when she is in the office. I like leaning new things. For me, this has been a phenomenal year because my Mommy has been home with me.

In 2021, let’s take better care of each other and do the hard work to eliminate what divides us.

Day 290 - COVID-19 2020

Today it was icy outside (from the snow, freezing rain, rain event we had yesterday and through the night last night). So, we stayed inside and finished puzzles and played games.

I also kept my eye on Franklin (FAQ).

They played more games and I watched (but really slept).

And a cool thing tonight was that Uncle Eugene gave Mommy a Darth Vader ice cube for her drink.

Mommy didn’t forget to make her statement today either.

Day 289 - COVID-19 2020

Today the weather turned nasty. But, we got out for our walk before the snow started falling

I should let you know that Uncle  Eugene keeps cooking meals for Mommy and Auntie Kristin. Today they had some sort of pumpkin caramel cake (meant for breakfast, but eats like a cake. He also made ham and potatoes for their late lunch, early dinner.

I hung out with Auntie Kristin much of the afternoon while Mommy took a few work calls.

I got to play with FAQ tonight.

We played more games tonight and continued on the puzzle.

In all the years Mommy has known Uncle Eugene, she never knew he had a pinball machine. In all fairness, it has been at who’s parents house since he was young, but they brought it to him during a socially-distanced COVID visit and now, it is in the basement.

So I helped Mommy play tonight and at one point, FAQ came to help too!

Mommy is still making statements.

And me too!

Finally, I should tell you that all the humans are wearing masks in the house out of an abundance of caution. They only take them off to eat, drink and shower. While they all agree it is a bit annoying, they feel they must do it to keep each other safe and remain healthy. Remember, wear a mask.

Day 288 - COVID-19 2020

I’ll be honest. I wasn’t sure how today would go. Auntie Kristin wanted to decorate the sugar cookies using a new frosting and new technique. Neither Mommy or Auntie Kristin had used the icing and technique before. And let’s face it, both are impatient and perfectionists. So, I feared the worst.

It was amazing. There was no screaming, pouting or crying. And, the cookies turned out pretty darn good for amateurs.

Today was a bit cold (and we are bracing for a winter storm).

Game night continued and boy was it competitive.

I just hung out.

I also kept my eye on FAQ.

A good time was had by all. But before I forget, I got Uncle Eugene a Star Wars Death Star ice mold for Christmas. He used it tonight. Looks pretty cool, right?

Finally, Mommy is still making statements on our holiday (although make up free).

She also found the one statement that she regrets not buying herself . This one she got for Auntie Kristin years ago. They had only one other and it was purple (not Mommy’s favorite color). So, she often thinks of this piece and wonders what might have been.
