October came and went

It's hard to believe it is the first day of November. October blew by. Here are some of the highlights:

The Life of a Showgirl. I didn't tell anyone that I bought a ticket to attend the official launch party for the album. Why? Some think I'm obsessed. I'm not. What I'm fascinated by - being a communicator and marketer my entire professional career - is how she is able to inspire/motivate people of varied backgrounds and ages to buy almost anything she puts into market. 

But, Nella texted me on a Friday afternoon and said let's go (kidding/not kidding) and because she couldn't make it on the day I bought a ticket for, I changed my clothes and off I went. We were a bit disappointed that the audience in our theatre wasn't on their feet singing and dancing. But nevertheless, we had a great time. Don't tell anyone, but I kept my original ticket and went again (no singing and dancing in that theatre either). 

Afterwards, Nella and I headed to a place we hadn't been in a number of years...The Sugar Factory. 

I started a tradition  when I moved to the City; Friday night pizza. For years, I ordered a thin crust from Lou Malnati's. But since discovering Robert's Pizza (through Linda) and after the expanded their delivery area during the pandemic, I've been ordering Robert's. Recently rated in the top 50 of all pizzerias in the World (#26) and #6 in the United States, it's just there ight mix of thin crust (NY style), sauce, cheese, and toppings. That's saying something in a town that is not lacking great pizza.

I can't forget to mention Pumpkin Spice Latte's (even thought I've been drinking them since August).

I cheered for the Cubs. Maybe next year will be a better year!

I shopped for - and scored - the viral Trader Joe's Halloween inspired mini canvas totes. Total fluke. I just happened to be at the right place at the right time. 

After 10 years of going to the same nail tech, I had to find a new one (as mine moved). Sad, but I'm getting used to the new guy!

I made a few statements.

Celebrated Halloween with the Ladies.

And made a few extra statements. 

The most surprising part of October? An impassioned speech about democracy from the Right Honourable Justin Trudeau at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs Annual Global Leadership Awards Dinner.

Starting out November on a strong note with an iced pecan crunch latte. 

And finally, the leaves have started to turn.
