Slumber Party

I was very sad to learn that both my Mommy and Daddy had to go out of town this week...at the same time. I wasn't sure who would be taking care of me. Mommy and Daddy had made arrangements, but they fell through once they learned I had just had the "big fix." They said since I had stitches, I couldn't be around the other dogs. I was very sad because I love to play with the other dogs!

But, Daddy called Aunt Angie and she said I could come over and stay with her for a 3-day sleepover. I was really excited. I have been to Aunt Angie's before. Plus, my cousin Clyde lives with Aunt Angie...and Natalie, Ellie and Caroline. I knew things were going to be great!

And, they were. I played with Clyde and the girls all of the time. In fact, I wanted to play with Clyde all of the time that Aunt Angie had to separate us just so we could sleep. That was fine with me. Aunt Angie slept with me in Natalie's room.

Mommy and Daddy called to check on me everyday. Aunt Angie said they missed me very much...I missed them to.

Daddy picked me up yesterday. I was sad to leave everyone, but I had a great time. But, I was looking forward to seeing my Mommy!

Thanks again, Aunt Angie, Uncle Rock, Natalie, Ellie, Caroline and Clyde!

Do You Like My New...

OK, I thought things were going great. I have been feeling better (since the big fix) and eating well, going to the potty on a regular basis. So, I couldn't figure out why I had to go back to the Doctor yesterday. But, Mommy and Daddy said they were concerned about the "area down there." I guess it was red. So, they wanted to make sure it wasn't infected. Well, good news, it isn't. But, the Doctor said it could become infected. So, they sent me home with a new piece of equipment. All I have to say is "What the F*ck Did I Do To Deserve This?"

Surgery

I was very scared when Daddy left me at the Vet. Although my doctor and nurses were very nice (and there were a couple of other puppies there today), I really had no idea what was going on. They took a lot of blood. Apparently Mommy and Daddy wanted to make sure everything was OK. My Doctor called Mommy to let her know some abnormal things showed-up in my bloodwork. So, Mommy told her to take more blood to make sure there wasn't anything really wierd going on. The Doctor called back and said I was fine. She said I must live a "posh life." I could have told the Doctor that. It turned out that my potein levlels were low, but that is just because I am not exposed to bad things at home (diseases, pets, children, etc.) It helps that Mommy keeps a clean house.

Daddy came to get me this afternoon. I know he only wants the best for me - but I will make him sweat a little more (I haven't given him kisses yet). It took me a little while before I came out my crate. I was a little woozy - kind of like having sea legs (or being drunk as Mommy says).

I was so excited to see Mommy when she got home. I gave her lots of kisses. It was the first time I had been up and walking all day. I wanted to see my stitches, but Mommy and Daddy were afraid I might take them out. So, they put this awful smelling stuff on it and I took one lick and tried to lick it off my tongue. I even tried to wipe my face on the floor to get the taste out - AWFUL.

I finally went potty (big pee pee and poopy). And, I just finished eating. I would like more food but Mommy and Daddy say I have to wait for my stomach to settle. I am whining a lot though - I just want my parents to know I am a little irritated with all of this.

Tomorrow, I Become A Man (So to Speak)

Mommy and Daddy have been preparing me for my surgery tomorrow. In case you didn't know, I am going to have the "big fix" tomorrow. I know all about the "fix." My cousin Jackson had it a couple of months back and wrote all about it on his blog. So, I guess I should be scared.

Mommy and Daddy had dinner with our neighbors Chad and Karen last night. They have two Westie's (Charlie and Maddy). I like them a lot. Maddy and Charlie both have had the "fix" and their Mommy said they did really well! I know Mommy and Daddy love me very much and wouldn't do anything to hurt me.

But, I will milk it for what its worth. They took me to my favorite store yesterday to play with puppies (and dogs) just like me. Then, I got my nails trimmed and teeth brushed (I don't like to sit still for Mommy and Daddy). Today, I went and slept in the basement. I usually love to run around down there - but I have been really tired today. Mommy and Daddy say I need my rest for tomorrow.

Well, I will keep you posted on my surgery tomorrow. For now, enjoy these cute photos Mommy took of me this week.

My New Friend

This week, it was Mommy's turn to take care of me while Daddy went on a business trip. Jeepers, it seems like Mommy and Daddy are gone on trips a lot. But, the best thing is they haven't been out at the same time together.

I had a lot of fun with my Mommy. When Daddy is gone, I like to wake Mommy up in the middle of the night to play with her. She doesn't always find this amusing, but I know she loves it! Most of the time, I just lay on her tummy - or side - and fall back asleep.

Mommy took me to my favorite Pet store last night. She put on my Coach collar (which I don't where at home) and made sure to bring along my Coach leash (she likes me to look my best all of the time). As a side note, I should mention, I am wearing my Coach collar in the picture above (although my fur hides it). Can you spot the red fire hydrant on my collar?

Anyways, now here is the rest of my story. I got to run around and meet new people and new dogs! I love it. The floor is quite slippery, though. So, I am exhausted by the time I come home.

Mommy bought me my favorite bones (and I like a new flavor...steak). She also let me pick out a new toy to come home with. I sniffed several before I landed on a donkey. But, there is special significance to the donkey. Mommy says that the Donkey is the symbol of the democratic party (I sniffed the elephant, but I didn't like it as much. Plus, I already have an elephant Katrina gave me). It has the number 2008 stitched on its side (it represents this election year). Mommy said that I made a good choice (and similar to the choice my cousin Jackson made in the Iowa Caucaus). I am not about to endorse a candidate, but I feel as though I can now may an educated decision on Super Duper Tuesday (that is when Minnesotans head to the voting booth). You will have to wait and see if I go for the elephants or the donkeys...
