Happy Thanksgiving

I got to go to Aunt Kristin's and Uncle Eugene's for Thanksgiving this year. This is the first time I've ever been to their house. Although, I wasn't quite prepared for the car ride. I was quite restless, so much so that Mommy had to stop at McDonald's to get me french fries. She had hoped that would calm me down and put me to sleep, but it didn't. So, I rode the last 2 hours of the 3 hour trip in Mommy's lap.

We finally arrived and all I can say is wow, Kristin has a lot of space. So, I spent much of the first evening exploring the house. But, it did wear me out. So, I made myself right at home.

I waited for Mommy and Aunt Kristin to get home from dinner before meeting my cousin Jackson Hareing. Auntie Kristin was worried I might be a little much for Jackson. But, I was confident he and I would be friends right away.

We did spend a lot of time chasing each other in the basement. And when Jackson was tired, he would just run right into his cage (and I wasn't going into that at all).

Mommy and Kristin spent Thanksgiving watching football and eating cheese ball. By the way, I wasn't so impressed with the Bears game, but I did have the best seat in the house.

Mommy and Aunt Kristin went out for Thanksgiving dinner at a local steakhouse (but definately no Manny's or Chicago Cut). After dinner, they went shopping (of course).

They didn't spend too much time out shopping on Thanksgiving, as they had decided they were going to go out shopping the next day in the town over. When it comes to Black Friday shopping, Mommy and Aunt Kristin know how to do it right. But, they didn't come home with much (as they really didn't need anything).

Once home, they waited for Uncle Eugene to make it home. He was Sweeden for work meetings. He got home and went right to bed. But, he was up early the next morning and I got to watch him fill the bird feeder and helped him roast coffee (well, I spent most of the time running around).

I loved spending time at Aunt Kristin's and Uncle Eugene's. And, I hope to be able to go back soon. But, all that running around finally caught up with me. I slept through the entire night.

Jack Was Here (and Karla and Tim too)

Can you believe it? Jack came to visit me in Chicago. He got to take an airplane and then a train! He was so excited to ride the train.

Mommy then picked everyone up at the train station (well, walked over and picked them up) and then headed to a late lunch where Jack got to have chocolate milk.

Then, Jack wanted to come see me.

He really liked our new apartment (he told Mommy it was Fantastic)! He got to ride on the elevator to the top floor. He got to see the city from high above. Then, he went to see where I sometimes go out. There, he found a pool table. And he spent a few hours "playing" pool.

Mommy, Karla, Tim and Jack all rested up for a trip to the Field Museum the next day. Jack really liked Sue (the dinosaur).

Then they all went to the Lego store. Jack got to pick out Legos with Mommy for his Birthday.

And by that point, Jack was very tired. So, he came back to the apartment and napped with me and Tim. Once rested, they all headed out to dinner across the street. And once again, Jack got to have chocolate milk.

After dinner, they all headed back to Karla and Tim's hotel so Jack would swin.

The next morning, I got up early and waited for Jack to come see me again.

This time, they came with their luggage. And then I knew they would be going home. But before they went home, they went to the Aquarium. Jack really liked seeing all the fish (and so did Mommy).

It was really great having everyone here! I miss Jack, Karla and Tim (and so does Mommy).

Auntie Vicki Was Here

Auntie Vicki drove all the way from Minneapolis just to spend time with me! Can you believe it?

It was so great to see her. I've missed her so much.

Baby, It's Cold Outside

It has turned cold here in Chicago. Now going out for a walk is a full on production. First, Mommy has to get all "bundled up." Then, she has to put on my coat and then my collar/leash bedore we can leave the house. And I think that's NOT OK.

Just Because

Sometimes Mommy likes me to post cute pictures of me "just because."

Please Don't Leave

I don't like it when Mommy leaves for work in the morning. Why? I just like hanging out with her.

So, I tried a new tactic this week, one I employed a lot when she dropped me off at daycare. I began to "shake" and "whine." And it worked! Mommy picked me up and cuddled with me a little longer before she left.

BTW...it works every time!

Wallenda

I've had a front row seat to the Wallenda #SkyscraperLive walk this week. The preparations started Thursday night. The weather wasn't so great on Friday and it has been a bit Windy this weekend.

Can you see the wires in the photos below? They are hard to spot in the light, but they're there.

And look at all the media that are here.

Can you see the wires between the buildings now?

And how about now?

Well by now you know, he made it across. And, I got to see him walk. He is the dot in the middle of the picture below.

But, all a bit anti-climatic in the end.

Until the next death-defying stunt in Chicago.

Happy Halloween
