Polar Vortex Day 1

Today was the first day of dangerous temperatures. I honestly had no idea today was any different than yesterday, except Mommy stayed home today. They closed her office because of the cold. They wanted to make sure all employees were safe and warm in their own homes.

So I spent today watching Mom work, participating on her conference calls and sleeping.

Girls Gone Wine 2

The title of this post is an odd one given I'm a dog, but this is not the first time I've written about Girls Gone Wine.

Mommy and friends celebrated Auntie Rachel's 40th birthday in Napa a few years ago. This year, the same gang (plus a few more) headed to Tampa to celebrate Auntie Rachel's birthday. She moved to Tampa late last year and she has been really missing everyone. So, they all decided to go to her for her birthday this year.

Mommy traveled with Auntie Linda, so she wasn't alone (I like it when Mommy is with other people).

But when they got to Florida they realized it was going to be a very cold weekend. Rachel's pool looked inviting, but too cold to get in.

The girls spent time checking out the local establiahments.

And found time to enjoy the sunsets (yes Mommy took this picture; it is so beautiful).

I was happy to learn that Mommy arrived home safely last night. She was supposed to fly in today, but changed her flight given the snow storm here in Chicago. She waited until the snow stopped and the roads were plowed to pick me up.

I'll let Mommy think I'm mad at her for leaving me again even though I always have the best time with my friends. I'm just happy we are together now!

Sheet Day

One of my favorite days of the week is when Mommy changes the sheets on the bed. I like to curl up in the "dirty ones" while she puts the clean ones back on the bed.

But I especially like when she washes the Duvet cover. She piles up all the blankets and it's like I get to play King of the Mountain.

She Did It Again

That's right, Mommy traveled again for work this week.

Mommy was back in Pensacola, only this time she stayed at a different place. A place with a view.

But looks can be deceiving. Mommy said it was cold in Florida, like 50 degrees cold.

 I've always wondered what it's like to fly and what I'd see if I got to fly.

Kinda cool isn't it. Mommy says it looks like cotton candy.

One thing that was different about this trip was that Mommy was able to pick me up the night she got back. My boarding place changed their pick up hours. Mommy was happy they did. She didn't want me to be away from home another night.

Of course I was happy to be home and to be in my own bed.

First Trip to Day Care in 2019

Mommy had to travel for business this past week. Of course that meant I got to go play with my friends.

Mommy dropped me off very early on Monday morning.

Mommy then flew to San Diego.

She said it was sunny and warm when she landed, but it was not as warm the rest of the week.

She'd eventually land in Carlsbad, CA where her meeting was. At least she saw pretty sunrises, green on trees (and even trees with oranges).

Mommy spent most of her time indoors attending meetings. She did spend some time outside during an 80s theme night. Mommy had been stressing for weeks about what to wear. She eventually decided to go as an 80s trendsetter, wearing many trends from the 80s including classic Reebok hightops, pegged jeans, an oversized white shirt with flipped color, clip on earrings, large hair bow, Bermuda purse and neon-painted fingernails. She did have leg warmers as back up, but ended not wearing them. I think it turned out well.

It looks everyone got into the spirit and had a good time.

Mommy said it was a long week and was happy to come home to see me!

But imagine my surprise when she came to pick me up this morning and it was snowing!
