Happy Halloween

Mommy and Daddy couldn't decide what I should be for Halloween (by the way, no one asked me what I wanted to be).

First, Daddy thought it would be cute if I was a skunk. But, the costume did not fit me.

Then, Mommy thought I would look good as a Pig.

Finally, they picked one I could live with...a Banana Split!

I was able to show off my costume to my friend Jack. He came over for a visit (and his first Halloween). He dressed-up as Elmo!

Mommy even got in on the action.

Now the trick-or-treaters are winding down. Mommy and Daddy estimate that they have had about 100 of the little ghouls and goblins...with a few more to come.

Happy Halloween!

Mom and Dad go to Washington

Can you believe it...Mommy and Daddy were in the same city on business this week. Mommy left for Washington, DC on Sunday. I was pretty sad.

But, I was excited when I learned that Daddy was dropping me off to spend time with my friends at my favorite place so he could go to DC on business too! Mommy and Daddy had dinner with each other on Wednesday night (along with a group of people from Mommy's work) and even took the same flight home on Thursday. Daddy said that he could see that Mommy was scared on takeoff. It was bumpy and the plan had to turn right away after takeoff. Something Mommy hates.

The highlight of the trip for me...my gift. Mommy and Daddy got me a "Bo Mouse pad." I am using as I type this message to you now. It is very cool!

The Girls

Natalie, Elinor (Elie) and Caroline came for a visit this week. Daddy had to watch them (and me) all by himself. Mommy was at a business dinner. It was kind of a bummer because I know Mommy would have had tons of fun.

I chased the girls around the basement...they sure did wear me out.

So, they watched movies (Daddy popped popcorn for them) and played a little air hockey.

I do have to apologize to Caroline. I nipped at her...I was fast asleep and she spooked me a bit. I didn't mean to do it...I was just in my defensive mode I guess.

I loved having them here and am sad they had to leave. But, I told them to say hi to Clyde and Libby for me. I hope they come back soon.

The Vet

I had to go to the Vet on Friday. Daddy said it was because I needed to have a check-up...just to make sure I was healthy. And the good news is that the Vet said I was a very healthy puppy, but that Mommy and Daddy need to have my teeth cleaned (which apparently is very common for dogs of my size). I understand there is a lot more involved with that procedure, but Mommy and Daddy assure me everything is going to be OK.

The Vet had to take my blood for some tests. I really didn't like that. They should be calling in a few days to let Mommy and Daddy know the results.

When I got home, Daddy discovered that Auntie Vicky had sent me a postcard. She was in Florida last week with a friend...and I missed her terribly.

From the sound of her note, it sounds like she missed me too!

We also got a postcard from Grandpa and Mary Pat. They are in Ireland and it looks - and sounds - like they're having a great time.

Just Jack

Mommy and Daddy had dinner with Tim and Karla on Friday. And, they brought Jack. He is getting so big (he is now 10 months old). Mommy and Daddy say that he is such a happy baby. I can certainly see that in the pictures below.

On the Road to a Speedy Recovery

Greetings from the frost region (well not yet, but we did have our first frost last night).

Grandma spent the entire week in the hospital. She was not feeling very well at all and Grandpa had to have the ambulance come and take her the hospital. Mommy and Daddy found out on their way to a Share Your Strength event last Sunday at the Graves hotel (interesting fact...The chef from Cosmos was cooking for the table Mommy and Daddy were seated at).

But, the good news is that Grandma is now home. Grandpa sent me a note this morning and here's what it said:

"Cosmo, this is Grandpa Mac. Gradma was in the hospital for several days with an infection. Grandma is now home feeling much better. She was thinking of you and I know you helped her get better. Fall is coming here to the Woodlands, it was down to 62F last night. Please tell Mommy and Daddy hello for me. Enjoy your fries. Grandpa Mac."

Wasn't that nice of Grandpa to send me a note? I was really worried about Grandma last week and didnt' get much rest. But, Mommy assured me everything was going to be OK...so I decided that it was OK to go to sleep (in Daddy's arms of course).
