Pure Michigan

Recently, Mommy and I went to Michigan to spend time with Mommy's friend Rachel at a rented cottage. Usually, I go on road trips with just Mommy so I was pretty confused when Mommy brought all of our stuff to the lobby versus our car. She then told me Rachel was on her way to pick us up. I couldn't wait.

Once Mommy and Rachel got all the stuff in the car, I assumed my position for the short ride to Michigan.

I sure enjoyed the wind in my hair.

Our cottage wasn't quite ready, so we made a detour to the town of Sawyer to eat and get a few supplies. We went to a place called Greenbush. It is famous for its beer. I do not understand why people like beer, but I do understand why they like the meat and cheese. Mommy and Rachel couldn't believe how much I loved parmesan and prosciutto.

We finally arrived at the cottage and got settled in. It's hard to say all we did, but essentially it involved the beach, walks, wildlife and campfires.

And when not at the beach or checking out the wildlife, I was hanging out waiting for Rachel to return from her bike rides.

We eventually had to come home. So, I assumed my position on Mommy's lap for the ride home. This time, I made Mommy take a few photos of places we were seeing, including Gary, Indiana. I know, it is not a tourist destination, but I've heard about it so much that I wanted Mommy to capture it.

Thanks Rachel for letting me and Mommy come with you to Michigan. We had a great time. And, I learned I'm really an outdoor dog!

Summer Haircut

Mommy took me to the groomer yesterday to get my hair cut.

Mommy told the groomer to cut my hair very short, but to leave my ears and tail long (Mommy prefers my them longer). She said she wanted it short because I was "hot." We've been experiencing a heat wave here in Chicago and Mommy has been worried that I'm hot. I am hot, but I thought I was hot in another way.

I'll admit, I'm cooler. But, I know I won't be able to stay out very long on my walks because my skin is now exposed. Can you see? I'm pink underneath all this white.

Stay cool!
