Where do I begin. Yesterday morning, my Mom and Dad woke up very early. I was really confused. Not only was it earlier than they wake up during the work week, it was the weekend. Mom and Dad told me we had something we needed to do.
Mom and Dad told me we were going to Wabasha to go on a walk. I had never been to Wabasha. My Dad told me it is where Grandpa lives. He said we were walking in memory of my Grandma Carole. She passed away a few years ago. But, every year, Daddy's family gets together, and with Carole's friends and the community, to raise money for charity. So, I was really excited to go to Wabasha and meet Grandpa.
I didn't realize how far away Wabasha was. It was a really long car ride. I was really nervous at first. But, I eventually fell asleep. But, when I woke up, I didn't feel so good. I got sick. Mom said it was OK...Havanese, especially in their first year, get car sick. I was just scared that I got sick. But, Mommy took very good care of me.
Once we made it to Wabasha, Daddy gave me some water and food. I was good to go. Then, I got to meet my Grandpa. And, all of my nieces and nephews. Natalie, Ellie and Caroline were there (They came over to see me a few weeks ago.) Jacob and Sam were there (Brenton and Abby stayed home.) Madison was there with Dad's brother John (Matthew stayed home to play in his football game.) I also got to meet Kevin and Kori. I am very excited because Mommy tells me Kori is going to have a baby very soon. That means I will have one more friend to play with.
Anyways, we all went on a walk. Jacob wanted to walk with me - and hold me too - and I loved it. I was having a great time (and getting very dirty.) I also discovered lots of news things...leaves and ducks. The duck really confused me. I heard him quack and I stopped dead in my tracks. The duck quaked again and I looked at my Dad. You see, I have a duck toy at home - and I always chase after it. I really couldn't chase after the real duck!
Anyways, we finished walking and we went to Grandpa's house. Clyde (my cousin) and Jack were there. I have really not met other dogs (outside of my brothers and sisters) and I was scared. So, Ellie wanted to hold me and I said yes. She helped calm my nerves. Eventually, I warmed-up to Clyde.
But, it was time to go. I rode back in my crate all the way home. I was really tired and slept most of the way. But, I didn't get sick and I was really proud of myself.
When we got home, Mommy and Daddy realized they had forgotten to take pictures during the day. But, luckily Mommy took some pictures when she was home with me earlier this week. Here they are....
