Trouble

Yes, I am in trouble right now. I'm just letting Mommy know how I feel about her telling me she isn't happy with me for scratching the couch.

Bedside Nurse

Mommy has been struggling with a migraine for the past 48 hours. Mommy has a really high pain tolerance, but you know it's bad when she spends several hours in bed with no lights or sound (not even her white noise). I thought she was better yesterday morning, but then another storm system came through (this time snow) and Mommy was down for the count.

I do what I do best in these situations, lay down next to her (or on her) and let her rest.

I'm happy to report this morning that Mommy is feeling 100% better.

Ice Storm 2015

We decided to come home from Aunt Kristin's last night because of an approaching storm. I was sad to leave, but so glad we made the decision to come home. The river near Kristin's house was to be above flood stage and we defiantly noticed on the ride home yesterday it had risen quite a bit in 4 days. In fact, we believe some of the roads we traveled will be impassable by tomorrow.

We are getting used to the forecasters making predictions about the weather and then nothing happens. Well, it definitely happened today. We are in the middle of the ice storm (Mommy's weather app currently says we are getting ice pellets). This was the view from the bedroom about 30 minutes ago.

This is not snow. This is ice.

Things are bad at Aunt Kristin's house. She lost power earlier this morning (she has a generator so she is OK), and she reports trees in the ravine behind her house have begun to fall. She has sent us a few pictures and one has been re-posted by the National Weather service.

Me, I've just been hanging out watching Mommy clean out every closet and cabinet we have. No better way to spend the time she says. Plus, I think she enjoys purging before the new year. Good to start the year with a clean slate.

Christmas Day 2015

Christmas has come and gone, but not before exchanging of gifts, eating of sweets and the annual game night.

We opened lots of presents, but much less than in years past. I think they all realize we are fortunate  to have more than most!

We were all a little tired by round four of Joker (the new game Uncle Eugene taught Mommy to play).

We didn't stay up too late, because Mommy and Auntie Kristin needed to get up early to go shopping.

Mommy sure wished she was in her robe slowly waking up this morning (like yesterday).

But, no luck. She and Aunt Kristin were out the door before 6 am this morning. And, by 9:45 am, Kristin's  car looked like this:

All for the trees Aunt Kristin works on at the holiday time. They eventually came home to unpack all of this and then to go back out for more.

I'm happy they are home now and watching football with me.

Hope all of you had a very Merry Christmas.

Christmas Eve

Yesterday was a big day. I knew we were going somewhere because Mom packed the car with all my stuff the night before. But I was really confused when Mom got ready and then we didn't leave. She wanted to make sure she opened the gifts from Grandma and Grandpa first.

Mom got what she wanted...a toaster. We haven't had one since we moved out of the house. Mom really wanted to be able to have a bagel with cream cheese for breakfast.

After we opened the gifts, we got in the car and headed off to Kristin and Eugene's. I didn't  sleep the whole car ride.

Once we arrived, Kristin, Eugene and Mom went to lunch. Me, well they put me in the laundry room. That didn't make me so happy. I destroyed a placemat.

I chilled out the rest of the day and enjoyed watching Mommy and Kristin bake cookies.

Of course we also had to take a few photos.

We ended the night with a game (a tradition). And, a new game at that...Cards of Humanity.

It's a bit of a racy and vulgar game. Uncle Eugene won, but Mommy came in a close second.

At least we had plenty of cookies for Santa. I was so tired for all the activities of the day that I didn't even hear him when he stopped by to deliver gifts.

Merry Christmas

Christmas has arrived. I haven't gone to look yet, but I'm confident I was a good boy this year and that the big guy didn't leave me a lump of coal.

Have a very Merry Christmas!

Holiday Ready

We are ready for Santa to visit. Mom made fudge today.she decided to outsource the rest of the baking to Sweet Maddy B's. She also got all the holiday shopping done, confirmed our gifts arrived at their final destinations and for the last of the holiday cards mailed. The only thing she hasn't found is new headgear. She ordered mine several weeks ago. She may just have to recycle one from the past.

Me, I'm just relaxing.

Bed Time

I want to sleep right next to Mom tonight. She's not exactly going to be comfortable, but she'll be fine.

The Holidays

The holidays mean one thing in our house...a haircut.

I tried to avoid the camera as I do not like to be disturbed after I've been to the groomer (I think I take after Mom and her touch phobia).

Mom got me home as quick as possible and she left me alone (as I like to be after my haircut). She went to go look at the holiday windows at Macys.

I liked the planet them this year. But agree with Mom, the two peanuts windows were out of place with rest of the theme.
