Just Call Me...Of The Morning

Stop Taking My Picture, Mom!

It's no secret that Mommy likes to take pictures of me. But sometimes I just want to left alone.

Buddy Was Here

Buddy (and Janet and Ian) came for a visit last night.

It was so great to see all of the. Buddy and I got to hang out while Mommy, Janet and Ian went to dinner. Mommy took them to the same place Karla and her went for brunch a few weeks ago. By the looks on their faces when they came back, I would say they really enjoyed the food!

The Vet

I had to go to the Vet yesterday. Not because I was sick, but because Mommy wanted to make sure I had a good place to go for my routine care - and in the event I was sick.

I was nervous, but the staff (and other dogs) was very friendly. Dr. Silverman even gave me cheese from a can!

I get to go back next week for one last shot. Can't wait for more cheese from the can!

Katie Was Here

Katie was in Chicago this week. She was taking a writing and improv class at the famous Second City (home to Tina Fey and more).

That meant that Mommy got to hang out with Katie (and Jeremy) a lot this week.

First up, pizza at Lou Malnati's (just a block away from our new place). It is a favorite of Jeremy's. Mommy said it was really good (and it must be, the wait was almost an hour for a table). They stopped by after dinner to say hi to me :-).

The next night, they all decided to go to the Willis Tower Sky Deck. But first, dinner in the theatre district (very close to Mommy's work).

Then it was off to Willis Tower. Mommy, Jeremy and Katie spent almost 2 hours waiting to get up to the top of the building. So, they took the time to learn more about the building (and Katie got a chance to do her homework).

More than 100 floors up (and a minute later), they were at the top to experience the city at night - and from a different view.

And then, Mommy was brave enough to step out on the sky deck. Essentially, it is a plexiglass (like) box that hangs out over the city. It's like you are walking on the city. Mommy said it was great as long as you did not look down.

And then came the last evening. They went to RPM, the Italian restaurant owned by Bill and Giuliana. They loved it. In fact, Grandpa Mac thought it looked good and looked at the menu online. Mommy told him he would take him and Grandma there when they come for a visit.

Thanks Katie and Jeremy for coming to visit me and Mommy this week. We both had a blast.

Sweet Home Chicago

I really like it here in Chicago.

But the best part of being in Chicago is being with my Mommy.

My Leash and Collar

Mommy says it's only right that I strut my stuff on the streets of Chicago in the leash and collar she bought me at the Coach store on Michigan Avenue seven years ago today.

Road Trip

Mommy and Aunt Karla took a road trip this weekend. It was all designed to pick me up from Aunt Stacia, Uncle David's and Sydney's house (can't forget Murphy and Chloe) to take ne to our new home in Chicago.

But first, Mommy got to put a puzzle together with Jack.

Karla and Mommy dropped off Karla's car off at the airport before coming to get me. That way, Karla had a way to get home from the airport since Tim and Jack wouldn't be able to.

And so the trip began. They made a few stops along the way (Best Buy and Target). And then, they came to me.

I was so happy to see Mommy (and Karla), but I must admit I was very sad to leave Stacia, David, Sydney, Murphy and Chloe. They've been my family for the past several weeks. And, they've taken such good care of me. I miss them, but Iknow I will get to hang out with them again.

Back to the road trip. It began with a quick stop at the gas station and a drive through. Guess what, Mommy got fries for me!

I fell asleep and missed much of the state of Wisconsin. We drove by the Jersey Shore of Wisconsin (the Dells) and stopped in Janesville for a drink - and more french fries. We had to take a picture with a cow wearing red high heels.

I did experience more of the ride in Illinois. Karla managed the money for the tolls (and she was not happy about the cost and quite frankly, didn't understand what the money was going to "improve") and helped with the navigation (as we all know Mommy is directionally challenged).

But we finally made it! I got to explore my new place. Not only is the apartment cool, but the building also has a "dog run." It is a long patch of grass where I can run and do my business.

I got a very good night's sleep and then helped Karla (and it was all Karla) and Mommy hang our artwork.

When Mommy and DKarla wrapped up, they went tp brunch and then took a boat ride to learn more about the buildings in the city.

They did get rained on, but that didn't dampen their fun.

Karla had to fly back to MSP last night, which was a bummer. But, he did get to hang out with Jack (jealous).

I'm starting to learn about my new surroundings. So, you'll have to check back to see how things are going.

Moving Day #2

Mommy moved into our new apartment a little more than a week ago. I was not here to supervise, and I'm glad I wasn't. From the looks of it, there were a ton of boxes.

But Mommy got it all unpacked (expect for a few pictures) before she brought me home this past weekend. She wanted to make sure that it looked like home for me.

Moving Day

I'm so far behind in my posts. As you can imagine, it has been quite busy.

We moved (well Mommy did) out of Minneapolis a few weeks ago. A big truck came to pick up all of our stuff and move it to Chicago (aka Smelly Onion).

As you can imagine, for those that know Mommy, the move made her nervous. First, everything was out of place. Second, she thought that by packing things they automatically became dirty. I know, she is crazy, but I love her.

Anyway, Mommy had a birds eye view of all the action. The truck was parked right outside of Janet, Ian and Buddy's apartment. So, Mommy could keep an eye on things. Plus, she got to hang out with Buddy and Janet.

Once they finished packing, Mommy cleaned the apartment and then she packed up the car and headed over to Karla, Tim and Jack's house for family dinner. Note, the picture below was from dinner the night before.

After dinner, Karla, Tim and Mommy told Jack we were moving. Mommy showed Jack where Chicago was located on the map. Mommy says he doesn't quite understand yet. But, Mommy told him it would be like when he goes to the Mesa house. He will get to Skype with us on a weekly basis. So, he will get to see us and we will get to see him!
