My Week in Pictures

This week I spent much of my time sleeping. I played so much with my friends when Mommy was gone that I didn't sleep. So while Mommy was working, I caught up on my sleep.

But I would have much preferred if Mommy stayed home with me. So, I wasn't too happy with her when she left each morning.

Oh, but I have to tell you about the cool new duds Mommy got me when she was in Napa. She got me a statement collar (turquoise-studded) and a sock monkey hoodie sweater. I really like them.

Here's hoping this week is a little more "normal."

Rachel's Birthday Weekend

Mommy jetted off to California this past weekend to help Rachel celebrate her 40th birthday. And of course that means I got to go play with my friends while Mommy was away. But before that, I insisted on getting in one last snuggle with Mommy before she left (even though that meant the snuggle location was in the car).

Once Mommy dropped me off, she met with her friend Linda (Talulah's mom) and headed off to the airport. Of course Mommy had my favorite - McDonald's french fries, but she didn't send me a picture because she knew I would be jealous.

Both Mommy and Linda settled in for their long flight. The only difference was Linda was living large in first class while Mommy was in the way back of the plan with all the kids (and even one sitting right next to her).

Linda felt bad, so she had the flight attendants give Mommy some adult beverages. Mommy looked at is as another opportunity to get in some last minute training for the trip.

Mommy and Linda met up with Rachel and all her friends at the airport in San Francisco for the next part of the trip: a long ride to Napa. They didn't time things very well as they landed in rush hour. So, the trip to Napa was almost an hour longer than normal.

They finally arrived at their rented house (an Airbnb) and headed off to the store for provisions (and wine of course).

Then off to bed to rest up for Friday wine tastings. This is a picture of Mommy's room (Petit Sirah).

The rest of the weekend was filled with wine tastings, lots of cheese and beautiful scenery. And while it rained the entire team, the girls had a great time.

Before the tastings on Saturday, the girls ran into the Women's March in Napa. I'm proud of Mommy (who participated in her first protest) for standing up for her right to choose.

And back to wine tasting. The girls even made a new friend!

They did find time to have a small birthday celebration for Rachel (although the whole weekend was a celebration).

And, a little shopping before the weekend ended.

Mommy was sad for the weekend to end, but she needed to get home from me. Too bad she and Linda were delayed coming home due to an "IT glitch" that grounded all United domestic flights for a few hours.

Happy Birthday, Rachel. And thank you for showing Mommy such a good time.
