Mommy and Daddy arrived home last night from their 4-day Vegas vacation. From what I can tell, Mommy and Daddy had a ton of fun. Although they don't really gamble, Mommy tried her hand at video poker and the penny slots. She won more than $50, which Daddy promptly gave back to the casino while playing Roulette. Mommy and Daddy left MSP on Wednesday. After dropping me off to spend time with all of my friends, Mommy and Daddy headed to the airport where they had breakfast at my favorite place...McDonald's (too early for French Fries).
It was also at the MSP airport that they spotted their first celebrity of the trip...Keith, the captain of the Wizard on one of Mommy's favorite shows, "Deadliest Catch." He is the one with his head turned slightly in the hat, island shirt and mustache.
Exciting to say the least, Mommy noticed that Keith was the last one on their plane and he sat in first class. By the way, Mommy hates to fly. Can you tell from this picture? I can't.
Mommy and Daddy landed in Vegas and were greeted by a driver from the Bellagio (where they were staying). He helped them with their bags and brought them to the car (much better than having to stand in the taxi line, Mommy said). Once they arrived at the hotel, they were greeted by a member of the Bellagio staff and brought to a private check-in (which took more than 30 minutes...a very busy place, but Mommy did not spot any celebrities). Mommy and Daddy finally got checked-in and they headed to their room to change. 31038, the Presidential Suite at the Bellagio is where they would spend the next three nights.
Daddy took more pictures of the room, including thier view of the famous "Fountains of Bellagio."
Mommy and Daddy changed into more comfy clothes and headed to the new City Center (next door to the Bellagio). They wanted to see what everyone had been talking about, including the shops at Crystal Court and the Elvis theatre at the Aria hotel (needed to pick-up tickets to Viva Elvis).
Art Installations at Crystal Court
Shops at Crystal Court (including the largest Louis Vuitton in North America)
Hotel Aria Flowers in Chocolate
Mommy loves Elvis...
Mommy and Daddy were quite impressed by City Center, but felt things were a bit to posh for them (that is saying something). On their way back, they stopped at Bellagio indoor flower display. Pretty cool...
They said they stopped by many times (it is on the way to breakfast) and that I can share more photos of the garden later. Mommy and Daddy spent the rest of the day exploring the hotel and watching the fountains from their bedroom. They headed out to dinner on Wednesday at Yellowtail (a Japanese restaurant in the Bellagio). They had a great meal...and the most interesting part was the pop rock sushi (pop rock, the candy, was in Mommy and Daddy's sushi).
After dinner, Mommy and Daddy tried their hand a few games and made their way back to the Bellagio garden.
Mommy and Daddy spent most of the second day on their feet. They walked down the the Venetian; on a mission to find shaving products for Daddy. They found them...and encountered many beautiful visuals along the way. Also, Daddy spent time on the phone with his work (Mommy left her blackberry at home).
Mommy and Daddy headed back to the Venetian that night to have dinner at Wolfgang Puck's Cut. Cut is a steakhouse. Daddy had Kobe and Waygu steak. Mommy and Daddy both enjoyed the Macaroni and Cheese.
Mommy and Daddy spent much of Friday by the pool. It was beautiful, except for the 40+ mile-an-hour winds. Mommy said it made it feel like it was freezing outside. In fact, Mommy had to wrap herself in towels for lunch. Mommy and Daddy had lunch at the poolside cafe. They had to hold onto everything just to make sure their food didn't fly and hit other people in the restaurant.
Mommy and Daddy had dinner at Circo in the Bellagio. Hands down, they said, it was the best Italian meal they ever had. And, they had the best view of the fountains (they sat in the best part of the restaurant). After dinner, they headed to Aria for the Viva Elvis show. Mommy and Daddy had a great time - especially Mommy. She loves Elvis - and they played her favorite song..."Suspicious Minds." Mommy said it doesn't get much better than that.
Mommy and Daddy had a great time in Vegas, but all things must come to an end. Mommy and Daddy had the driver take them to the airport. They spent the next 30 minutes in the airport security line (see the photo below), but it did move fast.
