Day 50 - Post COVID-19 City-Wide Lockdown

What a day. I took it pretty easy.

Mommy had a few conference calls and a number of to-do’s to check off her list. She had planned to keep working, but Auntie Linda texted in distress. Their movers had cancelled on them and she needed help.

Mommy wrapped things up and went to help. They were able to find back up movers on the fly so Mommy helped Fernando and the movers get things off the freight elevator. She also helped Auntie Linda with her outdoor furniture. She even helped Fernando move the TVs since Linda could not be without the television.

Given the craziness of the day, the move is not complete. Fernando still has stuff in the old apartment to move and will take care of that in the morning. Mommy will go there later today to help unpack more and to watch the fireworks that are sot off at the Pier.

We are back to wearing masks indoors and where many people are gathered. So while we were always wearing masks, we’ll most likely be showing the mask of the day again until we make it through this phase of the virus.

Day 49 - Post COVID-19 City-Wide Lockdown

It’s almost the weekend! Mommy got home from work a little later than normal. She was on the phone with Grandma when she got home and I certainly told Grandma how I felt (and all about my day).

Mommy made sure to give me my food when she got home and then we got to go for our walk.

Now we are home enjoying Lalapallooza without having to be in Grant Park with the thousands of people (who aren’t wearing masks). Thank you Hulu for the livestream.

Finally, the statement of the day.

Day 48 - Post COVID-19 City-Wide Lockdown

It’s mid-week and week three of Mommy spending a few days in the office. I’m getting better at being by myself. I mean, I used to do this all the time before COVID, so I should be able to do this now. But, I really like spending time with Mommy. But she assures me she’ll still be working from home a few days a week.

And now for the statement of the day.

Day 47 - Post COVID-19 City-Wide Lockdown

I was soooooooo good today. Mommy went to the office and I hung out. I didn’t make any messes and I was waiting at the door to greet Mommy when she got home.  It I’m happy to report, I was not whining or anything. I was a good boy.

I got so excited when Mommy was ready to take me for a walk.

Now I’m just hanging out.

Finally, the statement of the day.

Day 46 - Post COVID-19 City-Wide Lockdown

It’s Monday and Mommy duped me.

I thought it was a work day. Better yet, it was a WFH day. But, mid-day, Mommy said let’s go for a walk. The walk was to the car and right to the groomer. Mommy was saying I was looking pretty rough and needed a fluff and buff. The groomer showed Mommy a picture of me…I slept for about half my grooming appointment. I used to get annoyed, now I’m like whatever.

But, all the prodding and poking still tired me out and I wanted to sleep in Mommy’s lap all the way home from the groomer.

I got home and immediately asked Mommy for my food. She gave it to me and my clean face immediately became dirty. At least I had a clean face for the ride home.

Of course, I’ve spent the rest of the day resting LoL).

Finally, the statements of the day.

Day 45 - Post COVID-19 City-Wide Lockdown

They call it Sunday fun day, but I’m not so sure. By 8:30 a.m, this morning, Mommy folded the laundry that has been on the drying rack, washed the clothes from the weekend, unpacked the groceries that were delivered by Amazon, retrieved our pancakes and unpacked the, got into our stash of antibacterial cleaning products from storage, took out the trash and made sure her bags were ready to go for the week. I worry that mommy spends too much time on these things. I think she needs a hobby (or two).

Mommy also made it to the pool by 9 a.m. she only stayed an hour because it was so hot.

She took a shower and then ran some errands by foot.

We finally got out for a walk. I asked Mommy to go later in the day since it is so hot. I don’t like the heat the way I used to.

I got home, got my feet washed and headed back to bed.

I’m hoping next Sunday that Mommy makes it a fun day.
