Let's state the obvious. It's been awhile.
I kicked off the year (well the day before) with the ladies for a little New Year's Eve brunch.
We're old now, so we thought the earlier we were out, the better. We spent several hours enjoying great food, great drinks, and the best company!
I then got out the big bags and headed to Nashville for my first work trip of the year.
This was an internal work event and our costumes this year also had to do with Will Ferrel's (although you may not be able to tell it from the photo below).
Our flight did not leave until late on a Friday, so we had a chance to go to Broadway and have lunch while listening to some live music (no, we did not go to Jacks, I just like the sign).
When I returned, we had to say good by to Eddie V's - our home for the last 9 years.
We spent the next month of so hibernating (cold weather0 or spending time with each other. We had a Vegas game night (and prepped me for my trip to Vegas in late February).
Oh, can't forget Galentine's Day.
Or Madonna (a childhood dream - although maybe I should have not waited to see her until she was in her 60's).
In late February, I headed to Vegas for another work trip. I finally got to eat at Peter Lugar's (look, I know it is not the original location, but it did not disappoint). And, I had a few hours before my flight, so I headed to the Bellagio (my all-time Vegas fave) for the conservatory, shopping (hard to imagine how much damage you can do in 45 minutes) and lunch at an oldie, but goodie Noodles (not the one you think).
And not too long after I arrived home, my absolute favorite "holiday" tradition in Chicago. The Chicago River dye.
Spent time catching up with the ladies (and celebrating Nella's birthday).
Then, my check up from my surgery last year.
Best news of the month of March...my Mammogram showed absolutely nothing (well nothing bad). They said the surgical area was in great shape and recovering nicely. Please, don't forget to have your tata's checked.
Oh, we couldn't forget the PEEPs.
And then onto Texas for see the MacDaddy and Momma Mac. This time, we flew. It was still quite the travel day (Kristin's first flight since before the pandemic).
I made it home an hour before the Solar Eclipse. But let's be clear, I didn't really see anything, except that the sky turned this greenish, grey (like what I experienced before a tornado). I also didn't have glasses and couldn't really stare at the sun without going blind.
