Day 169 - COVID-19 2020

It’s the first day of the work week. This is usually a tough day, you know, because everyone still wants to be in the weekend mode. Mommy was still recovering from her long day yesterday on top of having a packed schedule today.

I was up several times last night. Do you know yesterday was the most time Mommy has spent away from me for 168 days? My day and night was all screwed up. So, I was tired this morning too.

Mommy forgot to post how she found me when she awoke yesterday morning.

She couldn’t get over how I used my french fries as a pillow.

Back to today, I caught up on my sleep while Mommy helped her colleagues find the perfect words to describe the things that mattered to them most.

But after Mommy hung up her last call, I was there to remind her it was time for our walk.

The one thing Mommy didn’t forget to do today was wear a mask and make a statement.

Day 168 - COVID-19 2020

We were up early today. I actually thought it was Monday. But, I really knew it was Sunday so I knew something was up. Mommy got ready and we immediately went out for our walk (so I took my sweet time).

Mommy then told me was leaving and would be back. She was going to get Auntie Linda and Auntie Nella to go see Auntie Rachel. Rachel bought a lake house in Wisconsin and with the acOVID quarantine restriction for “visiting Wisconsin for Illinois residents,” they thought now would be the best time to go. Auntie Rachel has been living at the house since she closed on it in early July. Rachel’s parents have been there since the middle of July and they are leaving tomorrow, so the girls were glad they got to see them before they left.

They had beautiful weather (not too hot, and actually quite cool this morning). Auntie Nella brought Bingo, so everyone had a great time!

They did get out on the water for a bit.

A good time was had by all, but the girls wanted to get back to the city before it got too late.

Mommy didn’t forget to wear his mask and statement of the day.

Day 167 - COVID-19 2020

It’s Saturday. You all know that means chore day. Mommy was up and out the door early this morning. She went to get gas in the car, get household items at Target and a quick run to the grocery store to pick up a few things for her day trip tomorrow.

The best find of the day were the Scrubbing Bubbles wipes Mommy hasn’t been able to find since March. I mean there may have been a tear shed when she saw them (tear of joy of course).

Mommy then went to get her nails done. You see, there were many protests scheduled for today and so Mommy wanted to be home safe and sound before the events started. That meant she got me out for a walk early too.

Mommy also got a nice surprise at the nail salon. The ladies who keep her nails in tip top shape made her a mask. Isn’t that so nice of them?

Mommy first made me chicken when she got home before she started the rest of the chores. She even wiped down all the surfaces in the car for her road trip tomorrow.

Mommy didn’t make a statement today, but she did wear a mask (3 to be exact).

Day 166 - COVID-19 2020

Friday! We made it through another work week.

I was still a little tired when Mommy got up this morning. I was up most of the night (my days and nights are all mixed up).

Mommy was in a hurry to get me for a walk early. She heard it was going to be raining by the time of our. Or all walk, so she didn’t want me to miss out. But she was in such a rush that she forgot to take her slippers off.

She didn’t realize it until we were half way through our walk. Of course she came home and sprayed them down with Lysol and cleaned the soles with bacterial wipes.

Notice the train behind us. We rarely see the train when we are out for a walk.

I rested for most of the day.

Although I did try to convince Mom at one point it was time to get up and play with me.

Mommy was able to meet up with the girls this evening for a drink. I know Mommy was happy to see them and spend some time away from the computer.

Finally, the mask and statement of the day,

Day 165 - COVID-19 2020

It looks like I had a rough night.

But, I didn’t. I was up a few times, but I went right back to sleep after going potty and getting some water.

I hung out while Mommy was on her calls today. She took me out at a different time because she was trying to beat the rain. Well, it started to pour down rain halfway through our walk.

So we had to take a detour through the parking garage across the street from our place. The parking garage didn’t have mulch, so that was disappointing.

Mommy didn’t forget the mask and statement of the day.
