Spring Break - Day 4

Spring Break day 4 has been a bit of a bust. The weather hasn't been great. So I've spent much of the day in one of these two positions:

The upside is that I got to spend most of the day with Mommy  (when she wasn't at the grocery store or getting her nails done).

Spring Break - Day 3

It's Day 3 of Spring Break. And it pretty much started out like any other day (me in a a strange sleeping position).

But things turned pretty quickly. I caught Mommy working. I was not pleased.

I finally got her away from the computer; long enough to take me for a walk. And of course, I got a treat when we got home (say cheese).

Mommy continued her break by going to the movies. Today's selection was Batman vs. Superman in 3D.

I think it's weird that you have to wear sunglasses to watch a movie.

Now I'm happy because Mommy is home spending the night with me.

Spring Break - Day 2

It's day 2 of our Spring Break. Mommy and I spent time this morning answering email, ordering Grandpa's birthday gift, sending his card and going for a walk. Then, Mommy set out to get a few things in the burbs.

Traffic was light today (well at least when Mommy headed out).

She got my food and bones, and a few flats of Diet Coke foe herself.

She got home before 1:00 and started to clean out her closet. She does this every season. I'm always amazed how much she can get into the closet. She also rotated winter and summer so she can get to things more quickly.

She had just finished up when she got a text from Aunt Kristin. Aunt Kristin was on her way to DC via O'Hare today when she became really, really sick. She even had to go to the hospital. Instead of going on a later flight, she was able to get a hotel room to rest for the night. Mommy got into the car and brought her some fluids. She hung out there for several hours to make sure she was OK.

Now she's back home with me.

Auntie Kristin is feeling much better and will be headed to DC tomorrow morning.

Spring Break - Day 1

Mommy is on Spring Break this week. And, I'm getting in on all the action.

First up, cleaning the sheets and all the down comforter covers. I'm partial to this one and I wouldn't let Mommy wash it (she eventually lured me away with a treat in order to get it washed).

You rarely see me like this. I'd much prefer all the blankets (feels a bit naked).

It was a good thing Mommy got all the sheets and comforters back on the bed before she left for the afternoon. I could sleep in my most comfortable position.

Mommy took the afternoon to see Van Gogh's Bedrooms at the Art Institute. Mommy is a member and she has tried to go a couple of other times, but it has been so, so busy. And from the looks of it, it was still busy yesterday.

She said the exhibit was amazing - so well done. I wish I could go, but Mommy says they don't allow dogs.

Mommy did take a little more time to go see the Warhol's again. If you'll remember, she was there late last year checking out that exhibit. She said it was much quieter this time around. It helped that it wasn't opening weekend and that Van Gogh was the new hot exhibit.

After the museum, Mommy had a late lunch at 7 Lions. It is a restaurant located right across from the museum. Mommy was there early this year celebrating her friends birthday. And, she remembered how good the cauliflower steak was. So, she indulged a bit.

Cauliflower Steak

Brussel Sprout and Burrata Toast

Mint Chocolate Chip with Bailey's Whip Cream Sundae

All in all, day #1 of Spring Break was good.

Bunny Sunday

It's Bunny Sunday. Mommy and I went out for an Easter stroll today. I asked her to take me by the river again. We saw lots of others out in their Easter best (and puppies too).

We did so much walking. Now, I'm resting.

Wakey Wakey

Mommy caught me sleeping earlier this week. This is a common sleeping position for me.

And then, I woke up. Mommy still can't understand how I'm actually comfortable like this.

Comfortable

Mommy caught me in my regular sleeping position this morning. I don't know about what she thinks about my bed, but I think it's comfortable.

Back to the Vet

I had to go back to the Vet this morning. Don't worry, I'm all good. I had to get my flu vaccine booster. The place where I got to play with my friends when Mommy travels requires I have it.

I'll tell you, I was ready to get home. My Vet is great, but it is not my favorite place.

Mom, can we go inside now?

Chicago River Dye 2016

Mommy took me the Chicago River Dye today. She said it is a St. Patrick's Day tradition here in Chicago.

Mommy decided to bring a tote bag to carry me in just in case the crowds got to big.

We headed to the Riverwalk and found a space at The City Winery.

We got there a little early so I just watched the boats and people walk by.

Then, the festivities started. Mommy said it was different this year because the big sightseeing boat was helping with the dyeing by spraying green stuff into the river.

The tote came in handy because there were too many people for me to walk. Can you spot us?

Regardless of all the people, I had a great time. I'm so happy Mommy decided to bring me along.
