Hurricane Harvey

Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Texas this past weekend. And then it decided to stay around, dropping a record amount of rainfall in Houston and the surrounding community.

Grandma and Grandpa live there and they are safe. They've had 25+ inches of rain where they live, but their drainage system has kept up. In fact, their neighborhood has not experienced the devastation seen on the TV.

I can now report it has stopped raining where they are and the sun came out. Both Grandma and Grandpa are mentally exhausted (imagine they feel much like I look).

But many others are not as fortunate as Grandma and Grandpa. Please keep everyone in your prayers. And if you can, please donate to the American Red Cross.

Perfect Day for a Summer Sail

Mommy and her friends went sailing yesterday. It was a perfect day.

Fernando was excited because he had a job to do for undocking!

It was quite choppy yesterday, especially close to shore.

There was a boat race happening further out in the lake. The sails are so colorful.

Did I mention it was windy too?

They stayed out a few hours, but they were all ready to come in so they could have lunch (no one wanted to eat given how choppy it was).

Looks like a great time was had by all!

National Dog Appreciation Day

Yesterday was National Dog Appreciation Day. It is Cosmo appreciation day every day as far as I'm concerned.

Cosmo Pictures of the Week

Soak all my cuteness in while you can.

And one of Mommy for good measure (isn't she pretty?).

Mad

This is what happens when I get mad when Mommy leaves for the day. Sometimes, I just want her to stay home with me.

Yes, this is my look when Mommy is telling me how displeased she is with me. But I'm still cute, right? She can't stay mad at me.

Another Visitor

Mommy's friend Katya stopped by with her daughter Charlotte. They wanted to give Mommy her birthday presents (delayed since they were out of town).

They brought Mommy some really fun gifts.

But, I was far more impressed with the wrapping paper.

Of course I got some snuggle time with Charlotte.

Thanks for stopping by!

Mommy's Day Off

Mommy took a day off this week to hang out with Auntie Karla, Uncle Tim and Jack.

Jack wanted to start the day playing pool. He loves to play pool in our game room. He does it every time he comes here.

After pool, Mommy took Karla, Tim and Jack on the scenic route to their next destination. And, they ran into a floating art installation on the River. Super cool.

On the way to Maggy Daley park, they walked by the Nutella restaurant. Mommy told them it was new and always had a line. But, there was no line, so they decided to stop for a mid-morning snack.

Next up, urban mini golfing at Maggy Daley park.

Jack got two holes-in-one in a row! He was so excited1

Jack played at the park for a little while before they headed over to the Bean at Millennium Park.

They stopped for a little lunch before heading over to Michigan Avenue to catch the Architecture Boat Tour (Mommy's very favorite thing to do in Chicago).

They of course came back to visit me later in the day. Jack wanted me to wear his MN Twins hat, but I wasn't having it.

Mommy had a great time and was so excited to see Karla, Jack and Tim. Me too. We are very happy they came to visit us.

Jack is Here

Jack came to visit me (and Karla and Tim too).

I

Mommy and Karla decided to take Jack and To the first place they ever has brunch in Chicago; Sienna Tavern.

Jack loved his Pizza. And, Karla and Tim really liked their meals too.

After dinner, Jack wanted to come back to our place and play pool. He plays it every time he comes to visit. Mommy said he is getting very good.

Jack did come say goodnight before heading back to the hotel. He will be back tomorrow. And Mommy will spend the day with them doing fun things in Chicago.
