Holidays 2023

This has been the third holiday without Cosmo. We miss him desperately at our family gatherings. It's just not the same without him. 

The holidays went by fast this year, our I did get to spend time with family, friends, and co-workers. The holiday season got kicked off with the office get-together. 

Our framily holiday party saw the return of bingo (which has been on a 2+ year hiatus).

I attended a cookie exchange with a wonderful and talented group of professional leaders in Chicago. 

And I spent time with my sister and BIL. But first, I had to get there. The fog was aggressive to say the least (this was the best part of the drive).

Once I arrived, Kristin put me to work making the "roll-out" cookies (at least she made the dough ahead of time, saving us time).

We also worked on our holiday puzzle (it was 2,000 pieces and proved to be hard - it took us 3+ days to put it together).

Of course Finn did his part for the holidays (watched us put the puzzle together, did the bunny 500 around the basement, and froze when Mom put his holiday sweater and headgear on).

Santa also came to visit. He left us far too many nice things (we keep asking for less and less from Santa every year). 

We did do some after Christmas shopping, although not like in year's past. It's easy to do that when you'd have everything you want (and have every ornament in existence).

It was great fun, but I needed to return home to do some work (although I chose a light schedule for the week between Christmas and New Years). 

Finally, I ended the year with the framily. First, we saw Ferrari. It wasn't our favorite, but we did learn a lot about Enzo Ferrari. Then, New Years Eve brunch at Shaws (we wanted to be home before the City turned into a sh*t show.

2023 proved to be a challenging year. But I made the most of it. I'm looking forward to a better 2024. Happy New Year to you and yours!

24 Months

It's been two years since we said goodbye. Very simply, I miss you every second of every day. 

23 Months

I've been tardy posting all the happenings since my last post. First, I went on the McMiller family vacation to Disney World. Jennifer, who is.a colleague of mine, was kind enough to invite me along to her birthday celebration - and family getaway - to the happiest place on earth. I had not been to Disney in more than 40 years (yes folks, I"m old). I had a blast - and Jennifer and her family were such good sports allowing me to tag along. We rode the rides, we ate and drank our way through Epcot, I walked more than 65,000 steps and 33 miles in 3 days, 5 pairs of ears, and countless accessories worn. 

Cosmo would have loved this time of year. It is cooler outside and our walks would be longer. And, we'd always stop at the fountain across the street to take our picture. We knew it was fall when it turned orange.
