Minnesota Nice

Mommy took a road trip over the weekend to Minnesota to see Karla, Tim and Jack.

Jack was surprised to see Mommy. When Mommy pulled up in the drive way and Karla told him that someone was here he came to the door and said "no way." Jack had been talking about Mommy in the last couple of weeks and wondering would she would come for a visit so he didn't have to get on a plane to see her.

First stop, Punch Pizza. Punch is a favorite of Mommy's and she wasn't able to go last year when she was in town so she made it a priority this year.

Next up, Lunds and Byerly's. Mommy has missed everything from the lemon bars to the killer brownie to chocolate chip banana muffins. She was able to get all of those things and a few more items to take home.

They wrapped up the night by going to the Uptown Art Fair (Mommy said it was very disappointing this year) and dinner at Rojo. Mommy and Jack used to eat there because Jack loved the cheese taco (a Quesadilla). Now Jack really has a cheese taco when he goes there to eat.

The following morning, Jack wanted to play golf with Mommy. He knows Mommy doesn't really golf, but that she can play mini golf. So off they went.

Mommy even got a hole in one on one of the most difficult holes.

Fun was had by all, but there was more fun to be had.

But first, they had to have some lunch. Jack was excited to have lunch because he knew he was going to have a cupcake for dessert. And, he was even more excited to sing Happy Birthday to Mommy (a few days early).

And now for the real reason why Mommy was in Minnesota..

...she was there for the annual boat day with Tommy P. For the first time, Jack came along. He had a great time. He spent most of the time tubing. Mommy said he had a blast. He held on tight and never fell off!

Mommy even got in on the action. Although she firmly believes she is probably too old for tubing.

And the day wouldn't be complete without visiting with Maggie. Mommy says Maggie is doing great.

Before Mommy left town, she met Kira for lunch. Korissa joined them (Katrina is now a teenager and was too busy sleeping in to join). Can you believe Korissa is now 8? Mommy had a great time catching up.

Thanks again Karla for taking care of Mommy while she was in Minnesota.
.

Mommy got home too late last night to pick me up from day care. So she came and got me this morning. I was worn out (as you might be able to tell from the photos below).

I am excited to be home and was secretly hoping that the refrigerator monster would be gone. But, he isn't. Mommy found me hiding in the closet this afternoon.

I  know it makes Mommy sad that she can't comfort me when I hear the refrigerator monster, but I just need to spend time on my own. Hopefully Mommy will be able to rid the apartment of the refrigerator monster soon!
