It was time to leave Barcelona and head to our next stop. This time, we'd take a different mode of transportation.
Yes, we got on a train! Rachel insisted we take the train because she thought I needed the train experience, and it was a good way to see other parts of the country!. The countryside is exactly how I imagined it.
We did have fun on the train, however we ran into a couple of snags.
It was a good thing that we found food because our train was delayed. Crazy delayed. The train ahead of us had a problem and could no longer progress on the track. We waited about 30 minutes for the train operator to decide what to do. The solution was for us to go back 3 stations from where we came (roughly 90 minutes time) and switch tracks (thankfully not trains) and proceed onto our destination. That meant that instead of arriving at 9:30 p,m., we arrived at 12:30 a.m. the following morning. We were thankful our driver stayed so he could get us to the hotel. I was able to reach the hotel to let them know what was happening and so they were prepared for us when we came in late. However, we were unable to to connect to our tour guide and had a very early start.
Welcome to Marseille, France!
