4 Months

It was four months today that I said goodbye to Cosmo. It hasn’t gotten any easier. I find myself wanting to interact with every dog I see in the hopes that one of them will be kind enough to spend a moment petting them or chasing them down the hall…just a few things I miss about my time with Cosmo.

Green Dye

Six years ago I brought Cosmo to the Chicago event of the Spring…The River Dye. It was the first and last time I brought him.

It was the first and last time I brought him. He was overwhelmed by the amount of people.
He would have been overwhelmed today too. Especially since it has been 3 years since they last held this event with people. There were lots of them today.

90 Days

It’s been 90 days since I last held Cosmo in my arms. I always thought with each passing day, I’d feel a little less sad. Well, that hasn’t turned out to be true at all.

It’s been a particularly rough start to 2022 and I find myself looking for Cosmo when I need a pick-me-up after a challenging business call or someone to watch my favorite sport with me or to just hang out while binging the latest show on Netflix.

The girls were such good sports yesterday. They came out to watch the Daytona 500 with me.

And tonight we went out for an off-night routine dinner and went a little crazy at Ed Debevic’s.

Imagine my surprise when Nella gave me these:

Not only thoughtful, but another way I can always keep Cosmo close to me at all times.

My Forever Valentine.

I’m sure missing my forever valentine today.

Unconditional Love

The realization I’ve come to is that Cosmo represented pure, unconditional love. No matter what, he was there for me when I needed him and vice versa. Maybe that is why the love of a pet never mimics the feelings you have for a human.
