Day 309 - COVID-19 2021

Today we remember MLK. He had a dream of equality for all. The events of 2020 were proof that we have so much more work to do to achieve his dream. It is my hope every person will commit to the work in order to achieve the dream.

Mommy had the day off, so she cleaned (and worked). She also finished the book White Fragility.

Day 308 - COVID-19 2021

It was a mess outside again today (snow and wet), so I just hung out.

Mommy spent the morning cleaning out her big closet. As of today, there is not a drawer, cabinet or closet Mommy hasn’t touched. She’s been holding onto some things fir way too long and I’m glad she purged. I mean, if she doesn’t use it or wear it, someone else may be able to get some use out of it.

Mommy also went to brunch with Rachel. It may sound glamorous, but remember they have to eat outside. There are heat lamps, and a tent, but Mommy said it was cold and felt it was getting colder based on the snow.

Ther is also a limit on how long people can sit at tables (even outdoors), so Mommy was home not long after she left. We’ve been spending the afternoon cuddling, staying warm and putting away the laundry!

Of course, Mommy had to make a statement today.

And she did catch me for a few photos (can you detect the subtle differences in each picture)?

Day 307 - COVID-19 2021

It’s the weekend, but you sure wouldn’t know it in our house. Mommy was up at the regular time and boy was she busy - and productive today. She went through every closet (except the master...that is coming), every drawer and every cabinet today. She purged. Almost a year into lockdown and she realized she had been holding onto things for years that she no longer uses. So, for whatever the reason, today was the day to move it out.

At the same time, she made two different grocery orders (which were subsequently delivered), washed all the bedding and towels. She also made my chicken and lunches/dinners for her this coming week. She could of kept going, but decided to take a break and enjoy a cotton candy cocktail.

Of course, my role was to supervise today. Also, we didn’t make it outside as the weather was sloppy. And given I just had a bath, mommy wanted to keep me as clean as possible.

Day 306 - COVID-19 2021

 TGIF!

I gave my Mom quite the scare today. She was on a conference call and I got up from my sleep to wonder and go potty. A few minutes later, Mommy could he at me helping from the other room. I did it in rapid succession she knew something was really wrong.

So, she put her conference call on hold and ran to see what was the mater. But, she couldn’t find me. I kept yelping and finally she found me stuck between the back of the ouch and the window. At first she had no idea how I got there, but then released I tiptoed my way from the bedroom into the living room using the ledge between the window and the wall that doesn’t fully got all the way to the window. In all the years we’ve lived here, I’ve never done that.

I couldn’t get past a certain point on the ledge because there was a barrier and Mommy has a big pillow between the ledge and the couch, so I couldn’t get up. Mommy had to quickly remove the pillow and lift me up onto the couch. Mommy was confused why I didn’t use the ledge to back back to the bedroom from where I came. I don’t know either, except to say that I just panicked.

After that, I deserved a walk outside.

Mommy went out with the Framily for dinner (Nella couldn’t make it) and she was really worried she’d find me in the same place when she got home. Good news, I was asleep in my bed when she got home.

Finally, the statements of the day.

Day 305 - COVID-19 2021

Today kind of sucked. It started out like any normal day.

But before Mommy could get me outside (because she was still working), it started to rain/sleet. So, we didn’t get to go out.

Oh well, as Scarlet O’Hara would say, tomorrow’s a another day.
