Day 297 - COVID-19 2021

Day 1 post surgery. Mommy would be happy to report to you that I slept through the night (after going pee) and that I woke up when she did and went poop. I’ve clearly know the plumbing is working.

I finally had water in the late morning (and again late afternoon) and ate chicken (hand fed from Mommy) late this afternoon. While it wasn’t a lot (and most know I don’t eat a lot to begin with), it was something. All these signs are positive, but I’m still going to play this for what it’s worth.

So this afternoon, I got more vocal. I started talking to. Mommy. That got me an hour long cuddle (while she was on a call).

I know I will be back to my old self in no time. At least tonight I don’t appear to be a drunken dog on rollerskates.

I also want to take a moment to remember Auntie Nellas’s beloved Macy.

She got her angel wings on Monday. I know Auntie Nella is devastated and my heart breaks for her. But I know Macy is watching over her now and will always protect her.

Finally, the statements of the day.

Day 296 - COVID-19 2021

Week, today was not my finest day. It started out like any other day, except no chicken.

Mommy started work at the normal time, but still no chicken.

Then a mommy said we had to go. And then I knew something wasn’t quite right.

We arrive at the. Eat and from there, everything changed. I was there for a teeth cleaning. Mommy has avoided this because she didn’t want to put me under. But I’m a little dog and we have teeth problems. I’m very healthy otherwise. So, they finally convinced Mommy to do the cleaning, knowing I’d probably have to pull some of my remaining teeth.

Well, they had to take my teeth. Now I’m all gums.

I did well and was up and walking pretty soon after. Although I would appear drunk when I walk.

Mommy has been able to give me pain medicine (as instructed). Now I just need to get a little something in my tummy. The night is still young.

Mommy wanted to keep things as normal as possible, so she still made a statement. These were taken after she dropped me off and she was able to dry her eyes (she cried when she left me).

Day 295 - COVID-19 2021

Monday. Vacation is over. Mommy was back at work today.

I started my day the same was at ended it (sleeping).

Have no fear, I made it out for our walk. The sidewalks are still full of salt (icky), but they were not as wet as they have been the previous few days.

Statements were also made today.

Day 294 - COVID-19 2021

Sunday funday! I wouldn’t quite call it that as it was really more of a quiet Sunday.

We did get out for a walk, but later than Mommy had planned. You see, the weather has been sloppy these past few days. She wanted the sidewalks to be a bit more dry. Well, they were dry, but there was salt all over them. That’s not good for my feet.

Of course, a mommy still made a statement today. You know, people ask her why she does and she feels like it makes things seem more normal to her. It is like working from home. We still get up at the same time. We do all the same things we did before. The routine helps Mommy focus. I’m cool with the routine (because I have one of my own).

Day 293 - COVID-19 2021

Today was a low key day. Mommy did more laundry, worked a bit, got her nails done, prepared lunches/dinners for the coming week and took me for a walk (albeit a messy one at that).

And let’s not forget the statements of the day.

Day 292 - COVID-19 2021

Happy Mew Year!

Mommy’s statement matched today’s weather (and we are still getting a snow, sleet, ice, rain mix).
