Up in the Air

Mommy caught me looking like this on Friday:

I could hear something, but I couldn't see anything. But, Mommy could. A lot of fast planes were in the sky. Mommy told me they were practicing for the Chicago Air and Water show this weekend. Mommy tried to get a few photos of the planes from the rooftop and our balcony.

Can you see the planes in the pictures? You have to look very closely.

Hint on the picture below...look straight down Wells street and to the left of the Willis Tower.

Hint: Look up in the air and to your left.

Hint: The planes should be easier to spot.

What? At least I didn't bark when the planes went overhead. I save that for my neighbor dog who likes to sniff under the door when she walks buy. What? I'm still a ladies man.

RIP Jackson Hareing

I woke up to the news that my cousin, Jackson Hareing, passed away very early this morning. Auntie Kristin sent Mommy and Grandpa a note yesterday saying he wasn't doing well and that he was going to the Vet today. But as Kristin was by his side and rubbing his paw his heart just gave out.

I'll miss going to Auntie Kristin's and Uncle Eugene's house and playing with Jackson. He was my friend and I will miss him greatly. I'm comforted knowing that he is now playing with Flopsy, Buttons and McGuire in bunny heaven.

It all began on Michigan Avenue

Not exactly, but close. Nine years ago today, Mommy walked into the Coach store on Michigan Avenue and bought a leash and collar for a dog she had put a down payment on but didn't know for which one. What she did know is that she wanted the dog to be stylish and spoiled.

Well you all know I'm stylish and I'm most certainly spoiled. But I think it's so cool that I now live just a few blocks from the Coach store on Michigan Avenue. I'm spoiled indeed!

Touch Up

I got a little touch up today. I got a bath and a small trim (to even out a few places). And, I got a special bandana to finish off my look.

Birthday Celebration

You all know it was Mommy's birthday yesterday. Her friends treated her to a very special day.

But first it started with a call from Grandma and Grandpa. Grandpa calls every year to sing Happy Birthday to mommy. It is the one thing Mommy looks forward to on her birthday each year.

BTW...Grandma picked out a great gift for Mommy (and Mommy loves it).

Mommy was going to go out sailing with Kathryn, but the weather didn't cooperate. But, Kathryn and a friend of hers quickly made other plans including lunch at Ema and manicures at Nailtastic. Mommy said she couldn't believe it when Ema paid for a bottle of wine for just because it was her birthday. Kathryn, Bobbi and Katya were definitely surprised too.

Linda joined the girls at Nailtastic. She didn't get her nails done, but she brought champagne to get the party started.

With all nails in tip top condition, Mommy and the girls headed out to Dylan's Candy Bar. All Mommy wanted to do on her birthday was have a cotton candy cocktail at Dylan's. Mommy's friend Rachel invited all of Mommy's friends to come out for a birthday drink.  It wasn't exactly what everyone wanted to do, but they did it for Mommy.

The best part, everyone got a side of cotton candy with their drinks. Sugar overload!

After a cupcake and a wish, Mommy and the girls headed out to dinner at Bridgehouse (right on the river).

The weather wasn't all that great so the crew sat inside (right along the windows). The whole staff there was great to Mommy and all her friends. And were accommodating when even more people joined the celebration.

Mommy had such a great time. And there was even more when she got home. Meg sent her flowers (they are very pretty).

Mommy had the best time and is so thankful to have such a great group of friends in Chicago. And I'm so happy too. Her friends are super cool and I'm glad they made Mommy's day so special.

Happy Birthday, Mommy

Today is Mommy's birthday.  It is a milestone birthday, but I know that it is not a good idea to talk about a woman's age.

Happy Birthday!!!

My New Bed

Mommy got me a new bed. I haven't had one for years, but Mommy doesn't think I look all that comfortable when I am lying on the hardwood and carpeted floors. It is very soft and comfortable. Clancy likes it too!

What do you think of my new bed?
