Day 235 | COVID-19 2020

Mommy met up with the Framily tonight for a virtual charity wine tasting. Note, there are a total of six people (now the mandate in the city of Chicago) and while they do. Or have masks on, they are part of their own Framily quarantine bubble.

They were joined tonight by their pool boy glass markers.

Mommy and I were able to get out before she had to go to Auntie Linda’s.

Mommy channeled Elvis today with all her statements.

And as slept.

Day 234 - COVID-19 2020

We still don’t have a final decision on the election. But, this is what we are hoping for tonight.

Neither Mommy or I could stay up to see all the craziness. I did wake several times and as a result Mommy checked the latest news.

So Mommy focused on work and me today and not the news.

And tonight, we’re just focused on catching up on our email, unpacking our deliveries and my blog!

Day 233 - COVID-19 2020

It’s Election Day in America. Of course Mommy’s statements had to match the day.

Mommy was excited to where her Bingo prize (courtesy of Auntie Nella). She said she finally had her very own Cindy McCain pin (hey, she’s not voting republican this year did you hear?).

She also dug out a vintage pin from Gramdma J’a collection. It’s from the year Mommy was born.

It was also exciting that Mommy was featured on the official VOTE Instagram feed today. All the girls saw it and were shocked!

Oh, and it is true what they say. The Framily that votes together, stays together.

I myself have decided to lay low today. I remember this night four years ago. Mommy had such great hope and I was excited, only to be disappointed later. I am trying to protect myself from any potential disappointment.

We did get out for a walk before the polls closed. Everything around us is boarded up. Our building has put in extra security measures as well as adding more security staff through the weekend in case things get out of hand.

We also got a grocery delivery with the essentials (chicken and Diet Coke) just in case we had to shelter in place for a period of time and others couldn’t get to us.

And now I’m enjoying these insanely beautiful flowers Mommy received from a work colleague of hers.

It truly is a reminder to stop and smell the roses.

Day 232 - COVID-19 20202

Pretty quiet Monday. The clocks changed over the weekend and I was up a lot last night. So I think I’m trying to adjust to the new timing.

There were a few times today when I tried to convince Mommy to stop working, but to no avail.

And now that the time has changed, it is dark on our daily walk. I’m not sure if I love it or not. Plus, tonight was a bit eerie. Indoor dining is shut down again and all businesses are boarding up just to be safe. They are concerned about violence that could happen because of the election outcome.

Mommy says we are prepared and she even has more chicken being delivered tomorrow just in case we need to shelter in place for a little while.

One final note,  mommy is in the voting spirit, so expect to see a few vote messages this week.

But of course it will not be the only statement she makes each day.

Day 231 - COVID-19 2020

Today is the Day of the Dead. It’s a day of prayer and remembrance for loved ones who have died. Mommy - of course - had the perfect statements to celebrate the day.

We also gained an hour last night. That meant that today we kept a pretty low profile.
