Firefighters and me...and a whole lot more

That's right, I met our local firefighters. Daddy went over to our neighbors house for National Night Out and Daddy didn't bring me (so sad). I know Mommy would have brought me if she were home (more on that later). Daddy was worried that I might get overwhelmed by all of the kids (like when does that ever happen).

Anyways, Daddy left the party to come home and get me so we could go for a walk. I like going for walks with my Daddy. Anyways, just as we were leaving, the fire truck turned on our street to go see all of the kids at the National Night Out party. Naturally, I had to go too! The truck was so big (and really cool) and the firefighters were so nice to me! I left and went on the rest of my walk. And, as in true Daddy form, he forgot to bring the camera. So, I don't have any pictures to share with you. But, he did take some when I got home. I was still so excited that I sat at the door to see if any more firefighters would be coming by for a visit.

As I mentioned before, Mommy was not here most of the week. She was in Phoenix for work. She said she worked a lot, but she did get a chance to do something fun on her last night in Phoenix. She went to the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball game. I am so glad she took pictures (at least she remembers to bring the camera with her).

Here's Mommy! Doesn't she look funny in her hat. She did bring the hat home. I took it and have been playing with it. I love playing with the Velcro on the hat. I am not so sure I will give it back to her.

Now that Mommy is home, we are going to spend lots of time together and just chill over the weekend. Have fun and talk to you soon!

So Much to Tell...

I am so excited to share with you all that has happened this week!

Before I tell you all of the things I did this week, I want to first thank everyone who has been praying for Grandma. She had surgery this week to remove the tumor in her knee. Mommy went to be with Grandpa and Grandma during the surgery. And, the outcome was great! The doctor said that he got out all of the tumor. Grandma now has what Mommy calls a "bionic leg." It sounds pretty cool (probably isn't as cool as I think - but what the heck - the name is awesome).

When Mommy got home, she had something for me from Grandma. I was so excited. Grandma made me a new quilt to sleep on! It is so cool. It is made with lots of bright colors and it has dog bones and paw prints on it. Grandma, I really like it. Thank you so much.

Anyways, Mommy and Daddy went to see Baby Grace last weekend for her dedication. I wish I could have gone with them because she said all of the kids were there (I would have had a ton of fun playing wit them). Grace's dedication wasn't far from the hospital Kira's Mom was at. So, Mommy and Daddy went to see Kira's Mommy. She also had surgery. Mommy and Daddy told me she looked great and was in good spirits. Plus, Mommy got to hold baby Korissa. I am so jealous.

I went to Doggie Day Camp this week and had a blast playing with my friends. But, I was so embarrased. They sent home a "special note" about what I had been up to at Day Camp this week. I tried to get it out of Mommy's hands last night - but she was too quick.

The note said, and I quote, "So Cosmo decided to express his creative side today! We moved his water dish to the back of his room so that he couldn't go swimming. Instead, he bunched up his blanket & dropped it into the water! And to top it off, he dumped his food & put that dish on top of the blanket! Another story for the blog!"

Well, I guess I acheived my goal of driving more traffic to my blog! I acheived a big milestone while Mommy was with Grandma and Grandpa this week.

I learned to walk down the stairs. Yes, that's right, I have been afraid to walk down the stairs. They are very big - and it is really steep. But, Daddy worked with me to help me feel more comfortable. Now I am a pro!

Thanks to Daddy for taking care of me while Mommy was away this week. He did a great job...although I am glad Mommy is back!

Just Another Day...

...At the Ring house! Daddy got up and mowed the lawn right away this morning. Mommy told him it was going to rain - so he hurried and got it done before the rain came (really didn't rain until later this afternoon - but it sure was dark this morning).

Anyways, when Daddy came in, he chased me around with the guitar. I wanted to make sure Mommy got it on video so Grandma could see it!

Mommy and Daddy then went to a movie this afternoon. They really wanted to see the new Batman film on the IMAX - but it is sold out through the weekend. So, they went and saw Mama Mia (Daddy had to sit through this chick flick because he made Mommy go to a really bad movie last summer - the Dewey Cox Story). Anyways, they thought it was good. Now, they are just running around the house singing ABBA tunes. Daddy hung the new artwork he and Mommy got for the basement (while they were in Duluth). They are these cool copper pieces.

I just chilled.

I want to say hi to Grandma. She is having surgery this week so I want you all to be thinking about her. Mommy is going to be with Grandma and Grandpa so I can give you a full update next week.

Before I forget, I also want to say hi to Kira's Mom. She had surgery this week too and I want her to know that we are all thinking about her!

Have a great week.

Weekend Getaway

Hi everyone! I just arrived home from my weekend getaway to my favorite place. I got to play with all of my friends - and I finally got to wish Lacey a Happy Birthday!

Mommy and Daddy went to meet everyone in Daddy's family in Duluth. They told me that dogs weren't allowed at the hotel. But, they were surprised when they arrived (not just because it was 54 degrees outside) because there was a dog show going on at the convention center. So, I could have come after all. Mommy and Daddy went to the dog show and they saw some pretty cool dogs - including another Havanese!

The Havanese placed third in the toy group (Mommy and Daddy thought he should have won).

Anyways, Mommy and Daddy spent the rest of the weekend watching all the kids play in the pool, sightseeing and, of course, shopping. Mommy and Daddy found new artwork for the basement (something they had been looking for a while - so once they get it up, I will share it with you).

Sam (and Nathalie too)

Mommy and Daddy toured a place called Glensheen mansion. Daddy says that a famous murder took place there in the late 1970's, but they didn't talk about it
at all on the tour. Mommy said the place was really cool - and it reminded her of the house (at least from the inside) in Waverly.

Mommy and Daddy were able to take some nice pictures outside of the mansion. Some are of Lake Superior - one of the five great lakes. If you look really hard, Mommy says you can see the famous lift bridge in the distance.

Grandpa and Mary Pat

After visiting the mansion, Mommy wanted to get a closer look at the lift bridge. This is pretty cool.

Look at this one. Mommy and Daddy walked under the bridge and a car drove right over them!

Anyways, I am pooped from all of my fun with my friends. Until next time.

The Bombs Bursting in Air

Happy day after the fourth of July! Last night, I got to see my first fireworks show. Mommy and Daddy say it is special because usually you have to go somewhere other than our backyard to see all of the fireworks. But, Mommy and Daddy have neighbors that like to have their very own shows (Mommy and Daddy say this is highly illegal). I thought it was pretty cool. I jut chilled on the chair next to Daddy.

The fireworks were kinda loud - and colorful. But, Mommy and Daddy said I did great. I wasn't bothered by the sound at all.

All of the fun last night really has me tired this morning. So, I am going to catch-up on my beauty sleep.

Happy Birthday To Me!

Today is my first birthday. That's right, I am a year old (Daddy says that is equivalent to seven human years).

Mommy and Daddy gave me a "stuffed" birthday cake, this crazy hat and some birthday treats (Daddy wouldn't let me eat them all because he said I was going to play with my friends all day and he didn't want me to get too full).

I am off to spend the day with my friends at Puppy Day Camp. I told Mommy that she could finish my blog posting today. I know she probably wants to share with you all of her thoughts on this momentous day...if you ask me, she is just going to get sappy.

Thanks Cosmo, and you are right, I am going to get sappy.

But first things first. Cosmo received a card today from his girlfriend Lacey! It was a very cool card, but there was a surprise in the card. A picture of Lacey for Cosmo. Many of you have asked us about Lacey - so we are excited to be able to share with you the picture of Lacey!

Now back to my sappy story.

A year ago, July 4th weekend, Joel and I went to Las Vegas on a mini vacation. We had a blast, but it was during that time that we decided that we wanted to get our very own "Clyde." For those of you who don't know, Clyde is Angela's dog (sister of Joel). So, when we got home, Joel called Angela and asked for the name of her breeder. We called, and got very lucky, she had a litter (actually, two). I must admit, I was very nervous during the interview (Joel wasn't). But, I knew if we could get past it, we would be a very lucky dog owner's.

We visited the puppies for six weeks before we were able to take one home. We didn't even know which puppy we were going to come home with. We were just excited to bring one home. When Cosmo's "birth mom" called and told us we could come get him - we still didn't know who we would be getting, except we knew it was going to be a male, white dog. We fell in love with him instantly!

Cosmo's Litter (can you spot Cosmo)?

We really enjoy having Cosmo in our life! So, on his first birthday, we thought it would be cool to share with you some of our favorite photos from each month he has been with us!
